At the Institute of Energy Systems and Thermodynamics (IET), experimental research, innovative development, and applied teaching are at the core of our activities. With high-performance laboratory facilities at the Campus Science Center, we enable hands-on experimentation and technological advancement. Equipped with semi-industrial test rigs, advanced sensor technology, and modern control and data acquisition systems, the laboratories support realistic testing environments — ranging from thermal energy storage and CO₂ cycles to investigations of turbomachinery and intelligent energy networks. In several specialized thematic labs, students, researchers, and external partners work together to tackle current challenges. Activities span from fundamental experiments in academic teaching to collaborative research projects and cutting-edge technological development.
