Welcome to the Institute of Energy Systems and Thermodynamics

Our focuses on the areas of thermal engineering, thermal storage technologies, hydraulic systems, thermal turbomachinery, industrial energy systems and digitalization. We do applied research and build up innovative solutions in cooperation with leading companies and research organizations. We educate students in the fundamentals of energy technology and teach them to deepen their knowledge in specialized topics, giving them the tools to play a significant role in shaping a more climate-friendly and sustainable world.
