TU Wien offers 19 Bachelor's Programmes, 32 Master's Programmes, 3 Doctoral programmes and various Continuing Education programmes.

A Bachelor's Programme is a basic degree course which provides academic vocational preparation and qualification for professional tasks, which require the use of academic knowledge and methods. All examination topics of importance for academic or artistic vocational preparation in the relevant subject area are covered. Bachelor's Programmes at TU Wien last for 6 semesters, which corresponds to 180 ECTS. On successful completion of the programme, students receive the title Bachelor of Science (BSc).

A Master's Programme is an accredited programme of study which serves to enhance and supplement students' scientific/academic training. Master's Programmes at TU Wien generally last four semesters, corresponding to 120 ECTS. Students holding a bachelor's degree from an educational institution other than TU Wien may be required to sit additional exams. Although it is called Master's Programme, students are granted the title of Diplomingenieur (Dipl.-Ing.) upon successful completion of the programme. Students will receive certificates for this academic title in both German and English. The English version confirms that the title of Diplomingenieur is equivalent to a Master of Science (MSc).

The doctoral programme lasts for six semesters.In addition to the dissertation, the current standardised programme for doctoral students stipulates that a total of 180 ECTS of modules (162 ECTS of which are the dissertation) must be completed. The doctoral programme is assessed in the viva voce, a general examination by a committee involving defence of the dissertation by the candidate. Graduates of a doctorate in the technical sciences are awarded the title of Doktor_in der Technischen Wissenschaften (Dr. techn.), graduates of a doctorate in the natural sciences are awarded the title of Doktor_in der Naturwissenschaften (Dr. rer. nat.) and graduates of a doctorate in the social and economic sciences are awarded the title of Doktor_in der Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften (Dr.rer.soc.oec.).

The Academy for Continuing Education offers a widespread range of products customized to the needs of graduates with technical or scientific backgrounds as well as the requirements of companies. This includes full-time and part-time programmes.The Continuing Education Center will further strengthen its position as a competent partner on the international postgraduate continuing education market by offering professional and high-quality services.
