A working group comprising members of the Vice-Rectorates for Human Resources, Digitalisation and Infrastructure, and Academic Affairs has been working on a new course management system since October 2025 and has implemented and tested the monitoring of mandatory training courses in ines through pilot modules. ines stands for ‘Internal Education System’. ines is the platform for in-house training at TU Wien. Since 18 May 2026, all standard training courses (which are mandatory for TU Wien staff) will be administered via ines. This autumn, the current PE continuing education catalogue in TISS is to be replaced by an expanded version of ines. 

To support accessible communication in the workplace, the Diversity Management Service Unit is providing funding for Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) interpreting services in a professional context until the end of 2027. This offer is aimed at deaf and hard-of-hearing staff and can be used for work-related events.

The RED NOSE RUN at Vienna’s Prater on 20 September 2026 is a fun running event for the whole family. The focus is less on top athletic performances and more on fun, enjoyment and a commitment to a good cause.

Under the digital sick note system, which has been in place since March, superiors are automatically notified when an employee reports in sick. This arrangement has now also been extended to project leaders with effect from 1 April.
