WELDNET (EU Erasmus+ Centres of Vocational Excellence)
WELDNET
Long titel: Network of Inclusive COVEs on Circular Material Welding and Preventive Maintenance for Socially Safe, Resilient & Sustainable Automotive Manufacturing
Duration: 2025 - 2028
Short:
WELDNET is a European Erasmus+ initiative aimed at establishing a network of five Centres of Vocational Excellence (CoVEs) focused on Circular Material Welding (CMW) and Preventive Maintenance Systems (PMS) for the automotive sector. The project promotes inclusive, resilient, and sustainable education by developing tailored training programs and digital tools for both Initial Vocational Education and Training (IVET) and Continuing Vocational Education and Training (CVET). It addresses regional skills shortages, supports socially disadvantaged groups, and fosters digital, green, and entrepreneurial competences through 15 micro-credential courses. TU Wien takes the lead in the strategic design of regional competence ecosystems and governance models, supports public-private partnerships and living labs, and contributes to building the CoVE centre in Austria. A dedicated digital platform ensures learner access, certification, and impact tracking. Through cross-regional collaboration and dissemination, WELDNET aims to shape the future of vocational education and drive innovation in advanced manufacturing.
