A personal web page can be fancy and informative. This is an attempt of being informative.

About myself: I am a statistics professor at TU Wien (with the above information, this might have been your guess). This institution provides access to many clever students, and to very interesting applications. Working with those students (of course also with the "normal" ones) in various application areas has stimulated my research a lot. My main research interests are in Robust Statistics and in Compositional Data Analysis - both fields are very useful in practice. Below is some more information on my research activities.
My non-professional life is rather nonprofessional: As an amateur, I am conductor of a choir, although they would have deserved having a professional one. I like running, and some time ago I also joined some competitions. I usually was on rank two, however, with respect to the female ranking. Well, and I love my family - and most of the time it is also the other way around.
