The Main Library of TU Wien Bibliothek is located in the "building with the owl sculpture" on Karlsplatz. In the open access areas you will find literature by subject category. Our initial consultation staff will be happy to help you search for literature.
On the 1st to the 4th floor, you will find quiet study desks for focused learning and working. On the 5th floor there are areas for group work where you can speak at a reasonable volume - please consider others. You will also find bookable group study rooms on this floor for groups of at least three TU Wien students. These can be booked for a maximum of 3.5 hours.
In the ground floor coffee area, you can sit together, talk, eat, drink and use mobile phones.

Scanning, copying and printing
The A2 book scanner on the first floor of the Main Library has a coin-operated payment option for DIN A4 copies (€0.10 per copy, no change given) for black-and-white or greyscale printing.
You can use the Grafisches Zentrum printing services, opens an external URL in a new window as a convenient printing option. You can also copy and print directly at the Grafisches Zentrum, opens an external URL in a new window on the Freihaus campus, as well as in the Copy Shop, opens an external URL in a new window at Wiedner Hauptstraße 5 opposite the Freihaus.
Only personal learning materials, laptops, writing equipment, books and beverages in sealable containers may be taken into the library. Please leave anything else in the lockers (accessible with valid TUcard or library card). Guests are kindly requested to contact the circulation desk, where they will be given a guest card for the lockers that can be used for the duration of their library visit. The lockers are emptied every evening and cannot be occupied overnight.
Please contact the ground floor circulation desk. Lost property is stored in the library for a few days and then handed over to the lost property office. The contents of unemptied lockers are also considered lost property.
