The TU Wien Chorus has over 50 singers from various fields. Most of them, but not all, found us through TU Wien and are also (former) students or employees of TU Wien.

The choir was founded in 2012 and has already achieved considerable success in choir competitions and the casting show "Die Große Chance der Chöre". Most recently, it won a gold medal at the World Choir Games 2018, the Olympic Games for choirs, in South Africa.

The scale to success

In addition to the annual self-organised spring concerts, the choir performs numerous other concerts for various occasions and requests (conferences, company celebrations, performances at Viennese Advent markets and the Vienna City Hall, weddings, internal TU events...).

With its focus on pop music, the choir deliberately aims at a younger target audience. The TU Wien Chorus inspires its audience not only with great musicality, but also sings songs arranged or composed by its members themselves.

In order to further sharpen and improve its vocal profile, the choir attaches great importance to collaborating with recognised musicians. Musically, the choir has worked with Monika Ballwein (vocal coach, Eurovision Song Contest), Stella Jones (soul and jazz singer), Andreas Salzbrunn (musical director of various plays at the Theater in der Josefstadt) and Marvin Dietmann (internationally active choreographer, e.g. for ORF, Eurovision Song Contest). A highlight was the collaboration with the music producer Thomas Rabitsch on the CD recording "Die große Chance der Chöre - Das Weihnachtsalbum" with the title "Carol of the Bells".

National and international successes

In 2018, the TU Wien Chorus brought a gold medal in the category "Pop Choirs" to Austria at the World Choir Games in Tshwane, South Africa. In 2016, the choir was awarded the gold diploma at the International Choir Competition and Festival Bad Ischl and was category winner in the category "Pop - Jazz - Gospel - Spiritual". In 2015, the TU Wie Choir was awarded the silver diploma at the renowned Anton Bruckner International Choir Competition & Festival in Linz.
