Grätzl-Ladezone

The Grätzl-Ladezone pursues the idea of combining the advantages of a loading zone for entrepreneurs, customers and residents.

The intensity of use of public space for urban goods transport has increased in recent years, partly due to the growth of online retail. Designated loading zones are intended to help solve traffic problems and ensure efficient supply. In order to optimise the organisation of loading zones, evidence-based decision-making principles are required. The needs of delivery companies and local customers must be harmonised with the strategic goals of the city administration and actual demand. The needs of residents must also be taken into account.

A well-organised charging zone infrastructure can have a positive impact on the city's population – for example by reorganising public spaces and improving air quality by reducing traffic – as well as increasing efficiency for businesses and logistics companies.

As part of the project, there are two neighbourhood charging zones in Vienna's sixth district:
