The appraisal interview itself:

Feel free to use the guideline, opens in new window as an orientation for the structure of the appraisal interview. Of course, you can also add questions that you consider particularly important or place emphasis on specific topic blocks.

Rough outline of the appraisal meeting:

  • Brief welcome and presentation of the agenda.
  • Review of the past working period since the last appraisal interview. If this is your first appraisal, the discussion focuses on reflecting the collaboration so far.
  • Goal setting: Based on the points discussed, the leader and the employee jointly agree on specific goals, which are documented.

Tip:

  • If you wish, you can involve a trusted person (works council or employee representative).
  • In order to record the agreements reached, these should be documented and signed by both parties.
  • This agreement is intended for the eyes of the employee and the manager ONLY.
