P2P DOC is a peer-to-peer mentorship program that aims to support current doctoral candidates. By participating in P2P DOC as a mentor or as a mentee, you’ll get to …

  • Help or receive help with challenges and decision-making doctoral candidates face in academic life
  • Learn new soft skills such as active listening, communication, leadership, empathy, problem-solving, cultural awareness, facilitation, and more in a real-life setting
  • Build out your professional network in a natural and authentic way

 

  • Mentees: Doctoral candidates in year 1 or 2
  • Mentors: Doctoral candidates in year 3 or 4

Mentors receive 3 ECTS for their participation in the program.

Program Start

The next P2P DOC cohort will start their mentoring journey in WS 2027/27.
The application period will open on June 1, 2026.

Program Duration

P2P DOC is designed to fit into the schedule of a busy academic. The program will run approximately from October to April.

  1. Mentors and mentees apply to the program
  2. The P2P DOC team evaluates applications
  3. Mentors register for LVA through TISS
  4. Mentors attend mandatory training
  5. Mentors and mentees are matched during the kick-off event
  6. Mentors and mentees meet and engage
  7. Mentors and mentees provide feedback to the P2P DOC team at various times
  8. Mentors and mentees celebrate the end of their mentorship journey together

The application period ends on September 20, 2026.

Potential mentors need to fill out an application form and submit a brief presentation video. More informationen can be found at this link and on the website for P2P DOC mentors.
