Doctoral Colleges
Structured doctoral education at TU Wien is embedded in a focused and coherent research framework and is characterized by clearly defined structures and requirements throughout the doctoral phase. These include the selection and admission of doctoral candidates, subject-specific and transferable skills training, academic supervision and guidance, the dissertation agreement, regular progress reports, as well as defined evaluation and completion criteria.
Doctoral Colleges provide a structured research and training environment in which doctoral candidates are integrated into a common scientific topic or research field and benefit from the expertise of the participating researchers. In addition to individual supervision, structured doctoral education includes joint training activities, scientific exchange within the Doctoral College, and opportunities for networking with other doctoral candidates and researchers.
