Long title: Combining Digital Twin and Digital Product Passport for Product Remaining CIRcular PotentiaL AssEssment

Sponsor: French National Research Agency (ANR)

Duration: 03/2027 - 08/2030

Abstract

The DigiCIRCLE project targets the manufacturing sector and has two main objectives. The first objective is conceptualising an architecture combining the Digital Twin (DT) of a manufactured product and its Digital Product Passport (DPP) in order to exchange information along the product lifecycle and finally assess the Remaining Circular Potential (RCP) of products at end-of-usage (EOU) / end-of-life (EOL). This will support the DPP transition from static compliance tool to dynamic instrument of value.

The second objective is formalizing the concept of RCP and integrate it in a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) framework to provide context-aware recommendations to stakeholders for circular strategies (like reuse, remanufacturing, recycling), taken other criteria into account, like market/user's needs and regulatory constraints. This will support stakeholders in making lifecycle-aware circular decisions.
