Workshop "Energy transition"

As part of the “Orientation Phase” course, 150 first-year students learned the basics of spatial planning and regional development between October 1 and 3, 2025.

In addition to presentations of the individual research areas, tours of the university buildings and the study program, get-to-know-you events organized by the student council, and a “practitioners' forum,” the Regional Planning and Regional Development research area also participated in the orientation week.

Elias Grinzinger from the land.mobil:LAB, opens an external URL in a new window research project held a workshop on rural mobility. The workshop explored participants' own mobility biographies and discussed the mobility needs of vulnerable groups. Daniel Youssef led the workshop on energy transition, in which the various options for action in spatial planning on this topic were discussed. Petra Hirschler also led the excursion “Gender Mainstreaming in the Model District of Mariahilf.”

We wish all students a good start to the semester and hope they enjoy their studies!
