"When I first came into contact with the subject of control engineering during my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, I was immediately enthusiastic about it. No other discipline combines mechanics, electronics, robotics, measurement technology, mathematics and computer science so elegantly. In the course of my studies, I decided to do a doctorate at the Institute of Mechanics and Mechatronics. There I was able to work on a variety of interdisciplinary projects: From intelligent energy management for buildings, to intelligent wheel loaders, to highly dynamic battery test systems for the automotive industry. Today I am particularly proud of the research results from the latter project, which I can now bring to market in my work at AVL List GmbH."
Teaching at our Institute
Great Demand for our Graduates
Nowadays, almost all technical systems and devices are mechatronic systems. The high demands in the development of such systems mean an increasing need for engineers with interdisciplinary university education, as offered by mechatronics.
Graduates of our institute are therefore in great demand on the labour market. Their broad knowledge in areas such as mechanics, measurement technology or control engineering opens up attractive career opportunities in research, product and system development, technology and innovation management or project management.
Our graduates are also successfully employed in a wide range of industries, such as the automotive industry, biotechnology, environmental and medical technology or aerospace technology.
