Johanna Fellbrich studied economic geography and supply chain management in Cologne (2016-2019 BSc, 2019-2021 MSc), with stays abroad in Dublin and Lisbon. Following her studies, she worked in the CEO's office at DHL Freight in Bonn, where she was responsible for strategy and staff as a project manager. Since 2023, she has been a doctoral student (cotutelle) at the Institute of Geography at the University of Cologne (under Prof. Dr. Peter Dannenberg) and at the Institute of Spatial Planning at the Technincal University of Vienna (under Prof. Dr. Franziska Sielker). Her dissertation deals with the discourse on the Belt and Road Initiative in Western economies.
As of May 2025, she is also working as a university assistant in the Urban and Regional Research Department of the Institute of Spatial Planning at the Technical University of Vienna, supporting the team in research and teaching.
From May 2023 to April 2025, she worked as a research assistant in the “Anthropogeography – Urban and Regional Development” working group at the Institute of Geography at the University of Cologne. Since May 2025, she has been working as a university assistant in the Urban and Regional Research department of the Institute of Spatial Planning at the Technical University of Vienna.
