Plagiarism guidelines ifoer

All visual design and written work (exercises, projects, seminar papers, essays, minutes, bachelor's and diploma theses, etc.) is checked for plagiarism.

Plagiarism occurs when the student

  • collaborates with other students on work that is required to be an individual achievement,
  • submits work that is not their own (e.g., work by other students, work purchased from a ghostwriter, etc.),
  • copies one or more passages from a text without citing the source,
  • uses plans or graphic representations in whole or in part from other students or sources without identifying the author,
  • uses an (almost) identical piece of work as proof of performance for several courses,
  • does not identify AI-generated text passages or visual designs as such.

Plagiarism violates the rules of good scientific practice and will be punished with the following consequences:

  • If plagiarism is suspected, students must submit a statement in a personal meeting with the course instructor in order to clarify the incident.
  • Students will receive a negative grade in the course in which the plagiarism occurred.
  • In serious cases, the research department is obliged to take all legal steps that may lead to expulsion from the program and revocation of the degree.
  • Affected students will not be considered for employment in the Research Department for Local Spatial Planning (study assistant, assistant, etc.).
  • Affected students will not receive letters of recommendation from the Research Department for Local Spatial Planning.
