Data Management and Reporting

Based on data collected both inside and outside of TU Wien, we create evaluations and visualizations that serve as a basis for solid decisions for future measures in the field of academic affairs. We continuously create reports for the (vice) rectorate, the deans of studies and individual departments as well as for external customers (e.g. parliamentary inquiries).

Furthermore, we accompany projects in the area of academic affairs in order to further develop and optimize the processes at the TU Wien and thus contribute to increased studyability. We also carry out our own projects, a selection of which can be found below.

Please submit requests for data analysis exclusively via our service portal. This is the quickest way for us to process your request and ensure that it is not overlooked.

The Rectorate as well as the University Council regularly require statistics or other special evaluations for reporting as well as for strategic decisions, which are carried out and made available in our department.

Together with the data warehouse team, the study-related data from TISS are prepared for the queries and analyses that arise.

For the intellectual capital report, our department provides the key figures 2.A.1 - 2.A.9 as well as 3.A.1 - 3.A.3.

The deans of studies have access to cohort statistics, reports on first-year students and graduates, and, upon request, all other figures relating to teaching at the TU Wien.

For budgeting, cost and performance accounting and for the research & development survey, KPIs are calculated from teaching effort figures for our controlling department.

Daily access lists are prepared for the GUT, as well as cleaning lists as part of the requirements of the COVID19 measures.

Projectcoordination and -management

In the area of teaching, numerous projects from the Vice Rectorate for Academic Affairs come to the Strategic Education Development Center for implementation.

In our department we develop the project concepts and, on behalf of the Vice Rector, search for the best project partners for implementation at the TU Wien. Documentation, coordination and other supporting measures are taken over by our department.

Here is a selection of the latest projects and measures that have been developed, created and implemented by the Strategic Education Development Center or are still in progress:

  • Introduction of a Programme-PRe-Phase at the TU Wien.
  • New student course assessment
  • New examination evaluation by students
  • Comprehensive introduction of plagiarism checks of (final) papers at the TU Wien
  • Project to survey real-time effort within courses by students (Quinn)
  • Long night of final theses
  • Automatic reporting for deans of studies
  • Creation of a concept for the implementation of "Best Teaching Awards"
  • Creation of a concept for the implementation of a mentoring program by and for students with a focus on first-year students
