Procedure and Structure
Procedure
AKMATH is divided into different areas. The course consists of lectures and exercises, which are offered both in person and online. The course is held in blocks and includes short midterm tests and a final test. These tests are to be taken on the eLearning platform Möbius and are therefore completed on a laptop, tablet, or PC. To participate in this course, please register in TISS, opens an external URL in a new window. After completing the midterm tests on the various topics and the final test, you will receive your first certificate. The midterm tests can be taken independently at any time. There are several dates available for the final test.
Structure
The AKMATH lectures are held as traditional lectures with modern media support. In the lecture, mathematical knowledge and skills are reviewed using application examples. The underlying theory is also briefly explained. Lecture notes are available, which can be obtained at INTU Books and Paper, opens an external URL in a new window Shop (Freihaus, red area, ground floor).
The exercises take place after the lecture. In these, topic-relevant examples are worked out and calculated with the help of a student teaching assistant.
In addition to the guided exercises, students can independently improve their calculation skills using their own notebook or tablet in the eLearning platform Möbius with a wide variety of mathematical tasks and examples with self-check features.
