General information

The University Entrance Examination offers persons without a suitable high school degree the possibility to be admitted to studies at the TU Vienna or BOKU Vienna as regular students. General information about the University Entrance Examination at TU Wien can be found on the website of the Department of Studies. There, you will also find a list of compulsory and optional subjects as well as an overview of the official examination material.

This website is intended to provide information and registration for the Mathematics Qualifying Examination, which can be taken at the Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation.

The exam consists of a written and an oral part, a pass depends on the overall performance in both parts of the exam.

Exam preparation

An appropriate exam preparation is the candidate's responsibility. Further information on topics and preparatory material is available on the Examination preparation page. TU Wien does not offer preparatory courses for the exam; but, for example, such courses are offered by the Viennese adult education centers, opens an external URL in a new window for a tuition fee.

Exam dates

The dates of the next written examinations and information on the procedure can be found on the dates and registration page.

Registration for the exam

Deadline for the registration for the written part is two weeks prior to the respective examination date by submitting this web form. Registration for the oral part is done with the examiner after successfully passing the written part.
