Selim Banabak recently obtained a PhD in Spatial Planning from TU Wien where he now works as a post doc researcher. In his dissertation Selim Banabak investigated the impacts of tenure segmentation on gentrification processes. His academic background is in Economics, after initially studying Business, Economics and Social Sciences (2012-2016 BSc) and Economics (2016-2018 MSc) at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Since 2019 he works at Urban and Regional Research Unit of the Institute of Spatial Planning at the TU Wien. Research Topics include housing markets and policy, socio-spatial inequality, financialization of housing and gentrification with a strong focus on quantitative methods.
