Key approaches and challenges were presented using current examples such as the redesign of Wiedner Hauptstraße, Schäffergasse and Vienna's first cycle lane on Argentinierstraße with the newly designed Sankt-Elisabeth-Platz. The walk also provided an opportunity to discuss the current situation at various locations along the route.

The examples presented emphasised the complexity of interdisciplinary collaboration between different municipal departments, demonstrating the diverse design requirements of various user groups for public spaces. A key takeaway from the walk was that the successful redesign of public spaces is primarily achieved through an integrated approach that considers the quality of stay and mobility requirements together.
