The three-day event aimed to further develop machine-actionable Data Management Plans (maDMPs) and to foster international collaboration. It brought together researchers and practitioners from various institutions.
A productive hackathon on machine-actionable DMPs
The event kicked off on Wednesday with a full-day hackathon dedicated to improving maDMPs through an evaluation service and unifying access to them with a new maDMP API. The participants split into two working groups:
- FAIR assessment evaluation service – focusing on assessing the quality and usability of DMPs
- maDMP API Development – working on refining API prototypes to enhance interoperability
Throughout the day, participants engaged in discussions on the current state of the RDA DMP Common Standard and worked collaboratively on the API design. The hackathon provided a space for prototyping new solutions, culminating in a final plenary discussion before wrapping up for an informal networking dinner.
OSTrails general assembly: presentations and strategic discussions
Following the hackathon, the OSTrails general assembly took place on Thursday and Friday. The agenda covered key presentations from various work packages, followed by insights into ongoing pilot projects. These sessions provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, review progress, and set priorities for the project's next phase.
Beyond the formal discussions, the event facilitated networking opportunities, including lunches on both days and dinner on Thursday evening, where international members connected to strengthen collaborations within the OSTrails community.
Looking ahead
