„Designing Future Society for Our Lives“ is the name of the EXPO, opens an external URL in a new window in Osaka, which will take place in 2025. Austria wants to present itself not only as a cultural and touristic destination, but also as a future orientated, innovative business, investment and research location. Therefore, scientific institutions from all over Austria were invited to showcase research collaborations and projects that have been developed in cooperation with Japan. During a meeting at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Ecenomy, opens an external URL in a new window, the idea took raise to increase the visibility of Japan-related activities in research within Austria and to connect the relevant institutions and individuals with each other. For this reason, TU Wien invites you to the "Japanese Science Day" on 5 October. The event will be implemented in cooperation with the Department of Japanese Studies, opens an external URL in a new window of the University of Vienna and the Japanese Studies Alumni Network / JAN, opens an external URL in a new window, which is organizing the Japanese autumn festival ‘Aki-matsuri’, opens an external URL in a new window on the same day.
Japanese Science Day
When: Saturday, October 5, 2024, 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
Where: TU Wien, Karlsplatz 13, Prechtlsaal (EG), afterwards Campus Altes AKH, Spitalgasse 2, Hof 3 (12 pm to 10 pm; please register seperately via the website, opens an external URL in a new window)
Programme:
- from 11 am: presentation of Japan-related projects and cooperations followed by a networking brunch
- from approx.2 pm: change to Aki-matsuri at the AAKH
Who: Scientists, researchers and students from Japan or Austria with a connection to and/or interest in Japan
