Research data are dynamic and require close collaboration between domain experts and research data management professionals throughout their lifecycle – for example, in ensuring FAIRness, semantic interpretability, or the handling of file formats.

In recent years, new professional roles such as Data Stewards and Research Software Engineers have emerged at many universities. At TU Wien, we focus deliberately on collaboration and networking: rather than working in isolated roles, we rely on Data Steward teams that operate across faculties in close cooperation with the Center for Research Data Management.
