Name: Philipp HUBER
Current position: Diploma student
Supervisor: Dr. Eduard NIGSCH

My name is Philipp Huber. I started studying technical mathematics at TU Wien in 2018. In my bachelor’s study, my interest for (linear) algebra sparked very early on. Going towards the end, I additionally became increasingly fascinated with partial differential equations and variational calculus. I attended lectures of superb professors which furthermore made me become invested in this type of mathematical topic. In consequence, my interest for further researching these types of topics grew larger.

Having had the opportunity to study abroad in Japan for one semester and attending mathematical conferences as well as being supervised in writing my master’s thesis, which was supervised by Senior Scientist Dr. Eduard Nigsch, I had the possibility to further enlarge my academic horizon. To be more specific, I wrote about so-called pseudodifferential operators and how they can be used to ensure some sorts of regularity of solutions of partial differential equations on manifolds.

In the future, I aspire to broaden my understanding of PDEs and to gain more knowledge on them. In order to do so, I am certain to be in the right spot at TU Wien!
