Booking study desks online

Book a study desk or group study room online with the library's new booking system,"anny".

Starting today, library patrons can book time slots from 01 December 2025 for study desks and group study rooms at the Main Library and the Chemistry and Mechanical Engineering Library. The easiest way is to use the “anny” app. 

In the initial phase, the group study rooms at both library locations and study desks on the 5th floor of the Main Library will be available for online booking. Additional study desks will follow over time. Some desks will remain freely accessible.

How do I book a time slot?

  • Install the “anny” app or call up anny.eu in your browser.
  • The first time you start the app, under “Data host region” select "anny.eu".
  • Continue with “Login per SSO” (Domain: tuwien.ac.at).
  • Students and staff of TU Wien: sign in with your TU Wien login.
  • Problems signing in? Check whether you have accepted the library regulations in TISS ("Organisation" tab, click "Library" on the page navigation, accept the library regulations).
  • External library users please use the link “Login for external library users” on the TU Wien Login page.
  • In anny.eu: go to “Explore” (in the top menu) and select the desired group study room or study desk.
  • Check in when you arrive at the library using either the app, the email link or on one of the library terminals. If you do not check in, the booking will be automatically cancelled 30 minutes into the time slot.
  • Check out after leaving the study desk or group study room, so that others can use the space.
  • Taking a break? For short breaks (up to 30 minutes) please use a time-out disc.

Who can book time slots?

Study desks

TU Wien students with an active library account can book study desks up to 7 days in advance.

All other library patrons with a valid library account can book study desks up to 2 days in advance.

Group study rooms

Group study rooms can only be booked by groups of 3 or more TU Wien students.
