Ernst Csencsics is Associate Professor for Measurement Systems in the Advanced Mechatronic Systems Group at the Automation and Control Institute (ACIN) of TU Wien.

He received an MSc. and a PhD degree (Sub Auspiciis) in Electrical Engineering from TU Wien, Vienna, Austria in 2014 and 2018, respectively. In 2023, he obtained the Habilitation in the field of Measurement Systems at TU Wien. His primary research interests are on opto-mechatronic measurement and imaging systems, the development of holistic methods for multidisciplinary design and integration of scanning systems, robot-based high precision inline measurement systems, high performance mechatronics and precision engineering.

He was awarded the journal best paper award of IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics (2018), the best student paper award at the American Control Conference (ACC, 2016), the best paper award at the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC, 2022) and the Dr. Ernst Fehrer Preis of TU Wien (2019).
