This year marked the launch of the Advanced Concrete Engineering (ACE) course at Technische Universität Wien, where Prof. Philipp Preinstorfer is introducing students to the world of cutting edge building materials and construction methods in the field of structural concrete. 

As part of the course, we organized a student design competition that gave participants hands-on experience in creating concrete structures using innovative reinforcements like composite bars and textiles. Students were encouraged to explore new design perspectives, incorporating sustainability considerations into the design process.

From theory to design, casting to testing, the course offered a unique, interactive learning experience. The competition ended with the announcement of two winning teams, recognized for performance and creativity.
