Whisper as a Service – WaaS for short – is an innovative service for automatically subtitling videos at TU Wien.

Based on state-of-the-art speech recognition technology, WaaS automatically creates subtitles for recorded lectures – in either German or English, depending on the language used in the course. These subtitles can be activated and selected directly in the player, enabling students to follow the content even more easily.

Special attention is paid to data protection and data security!

All processing takes place on-premise – which means entirely on the servers of TU Wien. So that all data remains within the university at all times.
