TUnet Maintenance Internet Service

On Friday, September 6, 2019, work on network components of the Internet service is required in the maintenance window from 08:00 to 10:00. There may be brief breaks in Internet access.

Update 6.9.2019 14:00 clock: The maintenance was completed successfully at 12:00. The internet connection is available again as usual.

Update 6/9/2019 10:30 am: The maintenance window has been extended until 12:00 to allow further functional testing. It is not to be expected with longer interruptions.

To support new functions as well as necessary security updates, a software upgrade will be carried out on both Internet Routers of the Vienna University of Technology.

The two routers provide the Internet service for the entire TUnet campus network (wired network connections in institutes and lecture theaters, WLAN and VPN service). Internal TUnet services (in the intranet of the Vienna University of Technology, in the data center, etc.) are not affected by the upgrade.

As part of the maintenance window, the systems must be restarted. This can lead to short interruptions in connections from the Vienna University of Technology to the Internet or the accessibility of the Vienna University of Technology from the Internet.
