Following the UTA24 conference organised by MOVE in Geras, this year's university conference (UTA25) took place from 21 to 23 September at the Wedau Sports School in Duisburg. It was hosted by the Institute for Mobility and Urban Planning (imobis) at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Over 70 doctoral students and professors from various universities in the D-A-CH region, who work in research areas focusing on transport and mobility, took part in a variety of specialist lectures and workshops.
The university conference is a networking event that facilitates interdisciplinary exchange on various technical and social science methods, perspectives, and current trends in transport and mobility research.
It also gives research assistants the opportunity to present their dissertation projects to an expert audience and receive valuable feedback and suggestions. For example, our colleague Florian Krückendorf presented his dissertation project on the acceptance of mobility measures in the 15-minute city.
The main topics covered at the conference were:
- Environmental and equity aspects of mobility
- Innovative mobility services and automation
- Traffic modelling and simulation-based planning
- Mobility behaviour and user research
- Digital methods of traffic observation and analysis
The meeting concluded with a boat tour of Duisburg's inland port and a walk through the Ruhrort port district.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the organisers!
