Presentation of "Bricoleur-torium"

On December 5, 2025, Ezgi Özkan presented her master thesis “Bricoleur-torium” on the vacant guard houses of the World Heritage Semmering Railway at Semmering (Lower Austria/Styria).

The sensitive transformation of the existing structures, working with existing qualities and materials, and the idea of using it for scientists-in-residence have been met with great interest. In keeping with the spirit of landuni, opens an external URL in a new window, the adapted railway guard houses could enable young scientists in particular to spend temporary working stays and engage in scientific exchange in the creative atmosphere of Semmering.

Sibylla Zech, who has already been involved with issues relating to the Semmering Railway World Heritage Site, supported Ezgi Özkan with her thesis.
