This year, GEO Day, our open day, took place again on 26 June at the Gußhausstraße premises. A large number of companies, in addition to the department's frogging groups, had gathered in the contact room and on the roof terrace. The event started punctually at 9:00 for five school classes from Vienna and the surrounding area with two lectures by Johannes Böhm and Matthias Steiner. Here, the "Workplace Earth" and the "World of Earth Sciences" could be explored. Afterwards, the stations were set up, with lots of things to try out and discover. After an eventful morning, the students had a barbecue on the roof terrace. This was organised by the geodesy and geoinformation department. In the afternoon, many interested people, friends and relatives took the opportunity to find out more about studying and working in geodesy and geoinformation. The event ended cosy with a barbecue on the roof terrace in the evening. You can find impressions of the event below.
Many thanks to all visitors, helpers, guest exhibitors and especially to the geodesy and geoinformation student council. We are already looking forward to next year!
