They completed the module "Biomass, Biofuels and Biogas" with six different experts on these respective topics. Some of the students already had experience themselves, so they could discuss a lot with the lecturers and ask detailed questions.

On Tuesday, Dr. Mario Ortner guided a tour at the biomass plant, in which he helped plan the construction. This enabled him to show the students the system in detail and to answer specific questions.

On Wednesday, Energiepark Bruck / Leitha organized a lunch for students together with the employees and board members of the Energiepark. There was good food and interesting conversations.

The excursion to the Bruck / Leitha biogas plant concluded the week on Friday. The managing director of the plant Bernadette Mauthner and Prof. Michael Harasek (TU Wien), who are both experts in the field, guided the students through the individual steps of the biogas production. As Prof. Michael Harasek was the lead researcher on this technique, he could vividly explain the last step of the production, which turns biogas into bio methane.

We hope the students learned a lot and enjoyed the time in Bruck / Leitha.
