With current facts & figures, different aspects of today's working world were presented in the five key notes and the technological influence in the present, as well as on the labor market of the future, was illustrated.  The diverse perspectives on the topic inspired the audience, and during the two Q&A sessions the participants of the event were able to ask the speakers their individual questions. For all those who could not attend, here is a short summary:

At the beginning, Prof. Sabine Köszegi, researcher and lecturer at TU Wien, presented a groundbreaking working paper on gender bias in AI. She addressed how our society unintentionally discourages girls from pursuing AI-related fields in the school system and shared strategies to counteract this problem.

Digitization expert of AK Vienna, Fridolin Herkommer emphasized the importance of societal progress in AI. He impressively illustrated that AI must be an instrument for positive change and pleaded for ethical and social aspects to be considered in technological innovations.

Decision maker at AMS Austria, Dr. Johannes Kopf explored how AI can revolutionize the labor market. He highlighted its potential to connect unemployed people with their ideal job, and explained how AI can provide targeted support to those who need it most. This will create a more efficient labor market for both parties.

Prof. Stefan Woltran, who is a Full Professor at TU Wien researching Artificial Intelligence, took us on a captivating journey through the history of AI, revealing the ripples of AI development, as well as the nuance of what AI actually really is and how it differs from other exciting topics such as Machine Learning. He emphasized the importance of Digital Humanism and reminded us that we need to prioritize human values and ethical frameworks as AI progresses.

Representing industry, Hannes Hunschofsky, EIT Manufacturing East, highlighted the impact of AI in the manufacturing industry. He identified the top five trends that will shape the industry and urged investors and startups to read business proposals carefully when technologies are referred to as "AI." Still, he is convinced of the positive power of AI and takes an optimistic but realistic view of the future.

Several presenters also stressed the importance of continuing education in technology, data literacy and digitization. In order to actually benefit from artificial intelligence in a timely manner, natural intelligence is still needed first, which must not be forgotten in the current hype surrounding this topic.
