Space Architecture

Build and shape space on and off Earth

The world is in a space renaissance. The research facility International Space Station is the largest extraterrestrial inhabited facility ever built. For more than 20 years it has been orbiting Earth and serves as a unique place of life and research. The Chinese space station is under construction, and the next humans are expected to land on the moon again in 2024. As accessibility increases, more and more new private and public actors are entering the space sector (eg. Space X, Boeing, Axiom Space, Blue Origin, etc.). Planned space missions are increasing, while at the same time space-based technologies are already playing an integral role in our daily lives on Earth. (e.g. global positioning systems, financial transactions and weather forecasts).

Living and working in space, research stations on the moon and on Mars are goals that are already opening up many opportunities on Earth. The experiences with the extreme extra-terrestrial living and working - but also planning - conditions can be used as a case study for pressing terrestrial questions. Extreme conditions are also increasing on Earth. The world is changing and we see that every day. Extreme weather and climatic conditions, environmental destruction, limited supply and access to the resources of planet Earth, sustainable building, optimization of land use are just a few of the buzzwords of our time.

This Executive MBA program spans an arc between economics, engineering, architecture and other technical and social sciences, to space and back to Earth. This unique interdisciplinary MBA conveys knowledge and know-how about new technologies and strategies for planning, building and living in space. At the same time, the reflection and synergies on current issues on Earth, such as the use of resources, the use of technology and the climate are an essential part of the joint discussion with the internationally recognized experts and leaders.

The course prepares executives, high potentials and those interested in the space market for future requirements in an international and interdisciplinary field of work in space and above all on Earth.
