From basic to specialization

In the basic modules "Leadership & Organizational Behavior" and "Management & Technology Essentials" you will receive economic and technical management knowledge and raise your personal leadership skills to a new level.

In the "Masterclass" basic module, you expand and renew your specialist technical knowledge and are informed about the latest trends and developments in space architecture. Here you will be taught by the Academic Director and international experts with who you will develop an excellent industry network.

In the “Project Management” Insight, you will learn how to manage complex projects in accordance with the IPMA standard.

At the end of the program you will be asked to devote yourself to a specific topic in the form of your written master's thesis. You will of course be continuously supervised until you graduate.

Project Management aims to teach the fundamentals of project management. Through project simulations and concrete projects, participants will analyze the key aspects of content, methodology, social dynamics, and time management in projects. Additionally, the analysis, conceptualization, and implementation phases will be explained, including the necessary frameworks (e.g., project marketing, project controlling). Upon completing the Project Management course, you will be able to present a fully planned project for certification according to IPMA (Level B or C).

Your Key Learnings

  • You understand the basic concept of project management as defined by IPMA and the advantages of integrating project management as a fixed business process.
  • You are familiar with the process model and key components of project management (project initiation, coordination, controlling, marketing, closing, and handling project crises).
  • You know which project management methods apply to the different phases of the project management process and can implement them in practice.
  • You can identify potential pitfalls in advance, reducing the risk of failure.
  • You can differentiate which project complexities require specific methods.
  • You know how to assemble and adapt a project team based on situational needs and can effectively fulfill your role as a team member in a project.
  • You are capable of independently and responsibly planning, managing, coordinating, and successfully completing projects (Level B or C).
  • You can use project management software (eg. MS Project) to support various areas of project management.

In your Master's thesis, you will work independently on a problem in a topic area of your own choice, in terms of content and using scientific methods. In most cases, this is a question with practical relevance to your own working environment. The Master Thesis will be supported by the faculty members. There will also be a possibility to work in close cooperation with selected industry.
