When both people in a couple have a career of their own, it’s not simply a case of balancing a family with a career – they have to reconcile two careers with all their various challenges. To support these couples as best we can, the ‘Dual career advice’ pilot project was launched at TU Wien. It was initially intended for newly appointed professors but is expected to be extended to other groups in future.
We believe that both people in a couple should be able to pursue their career so offer the partners of newly appointed professors at TU Wien different support options matched to their situation.
In the Folder Dual Career you find further information and support possibilities.
In an initial in-person meeting, we will clarify what support is needed, and what is possible, for each specific case.
We offer support, advice and contacts in the following areas:
- Career planing
- Language courses
- Family services
- Educational offers
Networking Events: As part of the ‘Dual career advice’ project, we also organise networking activities for dual career partners twice a year, e. g. tours around Vienna and the surroundings, museum visits or wine-tasting evenings at the Heuriger (taverns).
Mit Familie forschen und arbeiten (Researching and working with family): Information of the representative of family-work balance issues (available only in German)
Dual Career Service - Vienna, Lower Austria and Upper Austria : Network of universities in Vienna, Lower Austria, and Upper Austria.
