Objectives of the digital transformation

Digitalisation Objectives

TU Wien's digitalization strategy  has defined objectives in the areas of research, studying and teaching, administration and infrastructure which are to be realized. These objectives can be condensed into a number of core topics: digital skills, smart campus, data, analytics & prediction as well as platforms and networks.

Thank you for your vote! The Student Life Hacks 2022+ are treading new paths

"Vote and win!" was the motto of this year's Student Life Hacks. The resonance was high, with almost 1,300 students responding to our call to cast their vote for the digitalisation topics of their choice. Three lucky students were also able to take home a prize.

Results of the Student Life Hacks 2022+ Votings

In the past years, the Student Life Hacks idea competitions called on students to contribute their ideas to the digital transformation of TU Wien. This has resulted in more than 150 topics over the last three years. In the meantime, seven award-winning topics have been further developed into concrete projects and implemented by students for students, accompanied by the .digital office team.

However, there is no solution yet for seven topics that we have encountered again and again. These topics on self-organisation, collaboration, digital literacy and problem solving in everyday study life formed the core of the Student Life Hacks 2022+. We prepared and briefly described them for the students of the TU Wien to vote on.

Almost 1,300 students took part in the voting and cast their votes for their favourites. The following topics emerged as the winning topics: "Überblickskalender für Ihr Studium" (The personal start page for your studies),  "Die persönliche Startseite für Ihr Studium" (Overview calendar for your studies) and the "Diplomthema- und Projektarbeitsbörse" (Diploma topic and project work exchange).

The winners are:

For all students who actively participated in the voting, the raffle of 3 iPads offered an additional incentive to participate. Now the prizes could be handed over to the lucky winners. Josef Eberhardsteiner (Vice Rector for Digitalization and Infrastructure), Bernd Logar (Head of the .digital office) and Clemens Rauber (Contact person for student issues in the .digital office) congratulated the three winners Aslihan Sasmaz, Lukas Kaufmann and Markus Pietschmann.

Next step: Putting the projects into action

The three winners and all participants of the voting are invited to continue to actively participate in the digitalisation projects of TU Wien. The next step is to plan implementation possibilities. The three topics will be analysed in the coming year with the involvement of students, developed into concrete projects and prepared for TU Wien as sustainable solutions as possible.

The digitalisation projects in the area of students have always been able to rely on committed project leaders and project staff. With their personal commitment and interest, they have successfully supported the implementation of the projects. In the coming year, other students will again be involved in the process, and feedback from outside the project teams will be emphasised even more. Thus, the broad participation of students is especially welcomed in the coming year, because the projects thrive on this multi-layered input and the broadening of perspectives that is brought in by the students of the TU Wien in particular. Already in the course of the voting, students gave us additional feedback and input on topics, which we consider as very valuable. We hope to continue receiving this input in the future and are happy to accept it at any time at digitaloffice@tuwien.ac.at or via TUchat on the TUchat channel #.digital, opens an external URL in a new window.
