Scientific & Technological Cooperation (WTZ)

Grants to cover researchers' mobility (travel costs and costs of stay) as well as project related material costs.

Application requirements: a concrete scientific project with secured basic funding, in which scientists from the  corresponding partner countries will cooperate.

2023 Erasmus+ call for "European Universities"

The call is structured around two topics:

  • Topic 1: intensification of prior deep institutional transnational cooperation
    This call topic will provide support for already existing deep institutional transnational cooperation alliances including, but not limited to, the European Universities alliances selected under the 2020 Erasmus+ call for proposals.
    The aim is to build upon the institutional cooperation achieved so far and to further deepen, intensify and expand the effectiveness of this existing cooperation in order to progress towards the long-term vision of the ‘European Universities’. New higher education institutions have the opportunity to join these existing alliances as full partners.
  • Topic 2: development of new deep institutional transnational cooperation
    This call topic will provide support for applicants wishing to establish new deep institutional transnational cooperation in a new ‘European Universities’ alliance.

3rd Call - "Cooperation Development Research"

The OeAD implements the funding program "Cooperation Development Research" financed by the BMBWF. The aim is to support excellent application-oriented cooperation projects between Austrian higher education and research institutions and institutions in countries of the Global South.

 Call for applications for the   „Stanford University – Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair Professor“

The call for applications is for the years 2025, 2026 and 2027. Eligible are scientists from public Austrian universities (according to UG) with habilitation or comparable qualifications who are working in a subject taught at Stanford University.

EPFLeaders4impact - postdoctoral fellowships in Switzerland

EPFL is one of the most dynamic science and technology institution in Europe and ranks among the top 20 universities worldwide. EPFLeaders4impact is a new postdoctoral fellowship programme funding talented researchers from all over the world. The programme will fund between 40 and 120 fellowships of a duration of 12, 18, 24, or 36 months.

Applicants are free to choose their project topic in any discipline included in the research areas of EPFL, which must address at least one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Granted applicants will carry out their project at one of the five EPFL campuses in Switzerland.

Erasmus+ ermöglicht Hochschullehrenden internationale Lehraufenthalte an Partnerhochschulen im Ausland. Die Erasmus+ Personalmobilität wird von Österreichs Hochschulen rege genutzt. Jedes Jahr finden über 1.000 Auslandsaufenthalte von Lehrenden statt.

Information on Brexit

After the United Kingdom (UK) left the European Union, the respective transition phase, during which EU law and rules continued to apply, will end on December 31, 2020. For this reason, also the unrestricted movement of people between the United Kingdom and the European Union will end after this date.
