Try out board games and card games about the principles, foundations and processes of democracy at this year’s “Österreich liest” literature festival at TU Wien Bibliothek!

TU Wien Bibliothek’s contribution to this year’s “Österreich liest” literature festival is inspired by the Year of Democracy 2025: What are the basic elements of democratic values and how can they be learned through play?

In the last years, TU Wien’s research group “Human Computer Interaction” has been developing board games and card games in which the principles, fundamentals, and processes of democracy become game-shaping elements.

On Wednesday, 22 October 2025, you can try out these games in our lecture room on the 5^th floor of the library.

Tutors of the institute will be present to explain the game rules and provide support. Please note that the games are in the German language.
