Dr. Ernst Fehrer-Award

Univ.Ass. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Johannes Pistrol

On 14 December 2016, Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Johannes Pistrol was awarded the prestigious Dr. Ernst Fehrer Prize at an academic ceremony.

The Dr. Ernst Fehrer Prize was endowed by Dr. Rosemarie Fehrer, the widow of the inventor and industrialist Dr. Ernst Fehrer. The prize is a scientific award in the fields of civil engineering, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and physics and has been awarded annually since 1982 for outstanding research achievements with practical applicability. Dr Pistrol received the prize for his dissertation entitled: "Compaction with Oscillating Rollers | Motion Behaviour, Roller-Integrated Compaction Control and Wear Assessment".

Dr Pistrol's dissertation was nominated by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and selected by a selection committee consisting of the Vice Rector for Research and the Deans of the Faculties of Civil Engineering, Technical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Management Sciences, and Physics.

Dr. Pistrol is thus already the second Dr. Ernst Fehrer Award winner of the Research Department for Foundation Engineering, Soil and Rock Mechanics after Prof. Adam.
