Doctoral Programme New Social Housing

Doctoral Programme New Social Housing

From May 5 to 8, the second on-site meeting of the Doctoral Programme New Social Housing took place. Following a joint on-site week in Vienna in February, this time the participating doctoral candidates gathered in São Paulo to learn about local forms of social housing through various field trips. During two intensive workshop days, participants engaged in lively exchanges about the methodological approaches of their dissertations – including Julia Dorner’s work on the effects of green spaces on housing costs and social displacement in Europe. Valuable feedback was provided by the supporting professors, including Franziska Sielker, as well as the organizing team, with Selim Banabak among them. The next steps of the program were also planned – including a joint publication. There is great anticipation for a reunion in late summer at the Vienna International Summer School on New Social Housing.
