On the initiative of Luisa Holub (Diversity Management TU Vienna), we supported Caritas as an institute in organizing a public action at Karlsplatz in conjunction with the "Langer Tag der Flucht" (Long Day of Flight 2023). On October 6, 2023, an oversized paper boat was folded together at the pond at Karlsplatz and pulled through the water to generate attention for the countless human dramas that continue to take place daily in the Mediterranean Sea. This boat is a call to the politicians to no longer accept the dying in the Mediterranean Sea. 

The initiative "Raum4Refugees", which was launched at the Institute a few years ago, was also represented by a number of people.

Raum4Refugees is a platform created in the fall of 2015 on which experts offer free consulting services to municipalities, planning departments, associations and organizations on planning and communication issues related to housing and living with refugees. Expertise on location issues for housing, work and services of general interest, on vacancy and land management, on mobility offers, space-related legal issues, regional economic effects, on moderation, participation or process design in the regions can be accessed here.
