The Research Unit Sociology is the social science centre of the Faculty of Architecture and Spatial Planning at TU Wien. In teaching and research, we analyse the social and spatial structuring of societies and their change. Our work focuses on social inequality, urban development, democracy, participation and governance, as well as housing, mobility and sustainability, taking into account technological change and digital transformation. The qualifications in our interdisciplinary team range from sociology to architecture, geography, political science, anthropology and economics, to urban and spatial planning.
