On January 16, 2025, the third femTUme Congress took place at the Faculty of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at TU Wien. The aim of this event was to provide female researchers with the opportunity to present their current research results, network, and increase their visibility in a traditionally male-dominated discipline.
Our research group leader, Prof. Margit Gföhler, actively participated in the panel discussion. In this session, she shared her experiences and discussed various career paths as well as the significant role of female mentors in science.
Our PhD student, Jing Jing Xu, presented a poster titled "Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide Transport Modeling in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenators with Sinusoidal Fiber Morphology, opens an external URL in a new window". In her work, she investigates oxygen transport in extracorporeal membrane oxygenators with sinusoidal fiber structures and analyzes the hemodynamic properties of this configuration.
The femTUme Congress provided a valuable platform for the exchange and visibility of female research achievements at TU Wien.
