Declaration of solidarity

Declaration of solidarity with students, scientists, teachers and all members and their universities in the United States of America

In light of the current vehement cuts to academic freedom and important programs to ensure diversity, equal access and inclusion in one of the most scientifically and economically important countries in the world, the Senate of TU Wien expresses solidarity with the universities and their members who are being negatively attacked in their academic freedom and who must fear for their achievements, some of which are being willfully endangered by current developments. We firmly reject the persecution and discrimination of academics and students on the basis of ideological beliefs.

It is with deep regret that we bid farewell to Anna, an exceptionally warm-hearted and intelligent personality.

In addition to her scientific excellence in the field of logical methods in computer science, Anna
was a highly committed member of the Senate and various Senate committees, representing staff in academic and artistic teaching and research activities.

Her warmth and sharp mind left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Once she hugged me - although we hardly knew each other - and said: ‘I am Russian, I am emotional’ - an expression of her deep humanity and openness.
humanity and openness. Her smile and helpfulness will never be forgotten.
