New Chair of the Senate of TU Wien elected

On June 16, 2025, the new Senate of TU Wien constituted itself for the coming term of office (October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2028) and elected its Chair.

Members of the newly elected Senate period

The Senate is made up of representatives from all groups at the university: 13 university professors, 6 representatives of university lecturers and academic and artistic staff in research, art and teaching, 1 representative of general staff and 6 student representatives.

The new chair team of the Senate 

  • Bernhard Hofko was elected Chairman of the Senate.
  • Karin Poljanc takes on the role of 1st Vice Chairwoman.
  • David Mooslechner is the new 2nd Vice Chairman.
  • Stefanie Elgeti completes the team as 3rd Vice Chairwoman.

Following the constitution, the last meeting of the current Senate also took place. The agenda included the approval of curricula for the coming academic year, the amendment of parts of the statutes and the nomination of members of the TU Wien Arbitration Commission.

The official conclusion was a joint evening at TUtheSky, where members of the current and future Senate met to round off the year. Many thanks to all outgoing members for their commitment - we look forward to a successful collaboration with the newly elected Senate!
