Postdoctoral Researcher in the Research Group for Solid State Ionics

Research Interest

During my research it was always fascinating to me that behind every bit of understanding lies a whole pool of new questions and challenges. This was always a major inspiration for me and makes every bit of fundamental research very exciting.

Scientifically, I’m primarily concerned with mixed ionic and electronic conducting oxides. In particular, I’m interested in their defect chemistry and how ionic and electronic defects migrate and take part in surface reactions. To this end, I take part in the design of new experimental setups to facilitate novel and innovative experiments and to combine electrochemical and computational methods to understand the fundamental processes occurring in the bulk and on the surfaces of mixed conducting oxides. Ultimately, I hope to contribute towards advancing the fields of surface physics and materials science and to use our knowledge to design materials for efficient and sustainable energy technologies.
